New Rescues in Columbia, MO and Marion, IL and More News

This is the animal news update for July 22, 2017.

  • The Beauties and Beasts Rescue in Wichita, KS is opening the doors to their first building on Saturday, July 22, 2017. The rescue, founded in October 2014, currently cares for approximately 100 dogs and 50 cats. The building will be used to showcase adoptable pets to the public. Read more here.
  • The Finding Forever Animal Rescue of Marion, IL is celebrating one year of operation. The rescue, which focuses on cats but hopes to expand to include dogs, is completely run by donations and volunteers. Read more here.
  • The Columbia Small Animal Rescue in Columbia, MO officially became a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit at the end of February 2017. The rescue was started by college student Emily Unterschutz and takes in rabbits and small animals like guinea pigs. The rescue helps fill a gap in the area where there are few rescues for small animals. Read more here.
